The “Unmasking the digital mirage” project team held a three-day training in Snina, Slovakia, from June 6-8, 2025. During the event, participants learned how to combat misinformation and develop critical thinking skills. We recognized and addressed the root causes of fake news and practiced fact-checking skills.

Participants also explored various media sources and analyzed them for biases, misinformation, or sensationalism. The training included discussions on how advertisements, news articles, and social media posts shape perceptions. The team used “Forum Theater” to combat fake news and misinformation by creating narratives inspired by real-life experiences. The play was replayed, and spectators became actors, allowing them to alter roles to challenge misinformation. The training equipped attendees with tools to critically analyze media and become more informed citizens.
